Paragraph Success Criteria

Today for writing T1 looked at what makes a good paragraph. In pairs we discussed what a good paragraph needs and we listed them on our Padlet. From these lists we are creating a DLO for others to follow when they are writing paragraphs. These will be uploaded onto our blogs in the next couple of days so don't forget to check them out!

A Sneak Peek...

Here is a sneak peek of some of our tie dyed t-shirts. We have hung them out to drip dry and are pretty happy with the way they have turned out so far! We hope the get bid on at our Art Soiree!

Unicycling

On Wednesday Totara got the opportunity to have a go on our schools new unicycles. Most of us found it really hard but we kept practicing and some of us got the hang of it. James even managed to cycle down the ramp!

Tie Dying

The great Grey Main Art Soiree is on Friday 9th September and as a syndicate Totara decided to create a different type of art. We are learning to tie dye! We all got a T-Shirt and we have been watching Youtube and reading instructions to teach ourselves how to tie dye. The swirl pattern seems to be the most popular one to make so far! Here are a few photos of our work in progress. We have to leave them to process for 2 days so watch this space for photos of the finished product!

Our Door

For Book Week one of our class activities was to decorate our door based on a book. In T1 we chose to do the BFG. We added fairy lights to our door to symbolise our dreams, we wrote our dreams in dream jars and created a picture of the BFG.

Book Character Day

Well done to everyone who dressed up and came as their favourite book character. The staff had a great time dressing up as Harry Potter characters! Fred and George certainly had fun hiding under the stage!

Wacky Wednesday on Thursday

Wacky Wednesday on Thursday...
Today was Wacky Wednesday (even though it was Thursday) and some of us are looking pretty Wacky! Can't wait for Book Character day tomorrow!

Book Week PJ Party

Tonight at Grey Main we had a PJ Party where Nga Manawa was open from 6-8pm so children and parents could come along in their PJ's to read stories. We had a great time (although it felt a little weird being at school in our PJ's!
